This is OSx86 that means it is meant to be installed on PCs not Macs. This will install the Mac operating system on a PC. It can be used as a main operating system or you can also use it through VMware. There is a guide on how to install this through VMware if you search on Google.

A hardware compatibility list is available on wiki.osx86project.org look it up under HCL 10.4.8 and you'll find it. You can also find some drivers
on the wiki site if you search for 3rd Party Drivers.

All Mac OSx86 versions are very temperimental when it comes to the drivers and kernels so be very careful about the choices you make. Before you begin, you should go through your device manager (if you're currently using Windows) and write down exactly what hardware you have in your computer. It may help you later on when you have to choose or locate drivers.

I've included an installation guide that should help you during installation. If this is your first time with OSx86 you should print it out before attempting installation. The pictures included in this listing show the actual screenshots of the installation so you may want to bookmark this page.

This is completely virus free. It is made from my copy of the DVD I downloaded 2 years ago and it has been scanned with Norton Internet Security for
Viruses, Spyware, and other risks and it has been reported to be clean. So, if your program of choice finds anything, it came from your system not mine.

There are no passwords or cracks necessary to use these files. However, you will need an ISO program in order to extract this iso to burn it to DVD. I prefer ImgBurn for extracting and burning Mac files using a Windows based computer. It is available at no cost from the Imgburn website so don't pay for it, download it for free.

To install (refer to the included installation guide for detailed installation instructions):

1. Burn the ISO to a disk using ImgBurn, Nero, or some other software (I prefer ImgBurn).
2. Backup everything on your computer.
3. With the Jas 10.4.8 disk in hand, put it in your DVD-ROM drive in the computer and reboot. Press any key to continue, and let it load up with
its text screens.
4. Let it spin for a while, depending on your exact hardware configuration, it could take anywhere from 2 - 10 min. Be patient it may take even
longer. Eventually a blue screen with a pinwheel will come up and stare you in the face for about a min.
5. An introduction screen will pop up, click continue.
6. Go into the Utilities Menu in the upper left hand corner and click on Disk Utility. In about a minute the Disk Utility Screen will pop up.
7. Select your hard drive, and click on the erase button. Then for the format select the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and name it whatever you
want.
8. Erasing won't take too long, and when you can see that its renamed the hard drive (Or hard drive partition) click the red x in the corner to
exit. The disk will spin for a bit, then get back to the installation screen seen in step 6, only this time it will have the picture of a
hard drive in it. Click on this Hard Drive, click continue, and go to the next screen.
9. Choose your installation options.
10. Click continue.
11. Once the installation has finalized, and optimized, OSX will need to restart. When your PC/Hackintosh restarts, remove the installation DVD
and go through the setting up your Mac steps.
